Basil - Sweet

Basil has a sweet and spicy aroma with notes of clove, anise, and an underlying mint flavor. Basil is great for all western cooking. It's a natural companion to tomatoes, whether in salad, sauce, or soup. Combine softened butter with chopped basil, garlic, grated lemon peel, and bread crumbs and work mixture under skin of chicken before roasting. We love satueeing broccoli and carrots with a dash of dried basil, salt, and pepper for a simple delicious side dish. Also goes great on lobster and scallops.
